Most celebrated intellectuals would sneer at the prospect of a professional collaboration with someone who has amassed a small fortune hawking cheap cosmetics. Imagine The Christie Brinkley Story as Told to William F. Buckley. Egghead, antifemi nist and bon vivant CAMILLE PAGLIA, however, has always prided herself on a more enlightened perspective. The incendiary academic has teamed up with LAUREN HUTTON (the supermodel older than Kate Moss by three decades) to make a short documentary that, according to Paglia, deals with "sex roles and the condition of humanity." In the film, Hutton and a Gaultier-clad Camille tackle these lofty issues while seated at a banquet table, a snipe at feminists who, complains Paglia, are obsessed "with food and anorexia." Hutton, a devoted adherent of Paglia's gender politics, has also asked the author to contribute to a book she's developing on the social history of fashion.
